We’ve been kicking around with a couple of other kiwi boats and they suggested we go check out this place.
It’s pretty swanky, so we only had a beer rather than anything to eat. We really just wanted to see the grounds. We had to motor a little way up a stream, past a campground, and tied up to a little jetty. There are fish everywhere here and the Restuarant have created a lovely location. I’m not sure what the original purpose of the building was maybe a water mill?
Afterwards we grabbed a few beers from the local shop, and sat with our feet in the cool water at the town dock and enjoyed watching the dusk. There must be some springs or something nearby feeding the little rivers and the harbour has an oily look to the water caused by the freshwater sitting on top of the salt water. You can even feel it when swimming - the top few inches is quite cold compared to the water underneath.
